Councillor Jennifer Millar-Smith

Jennifer was first elected a councillor for Maidenbower from 2004 until 2012. She was re-elected in 2019 again serving Maidenbower. 

Originally from the USA, Jennifer has lived in Maidenbower since 1994. She worked for many years in the NHS in admin and management at Crawley and East Surrey Hospitals as well as St George's in Tooting.  She currently works for Crawley's Member of Parliament. 

Jennifer enjoys helping residents as well as the business side of being a councillor.  She is keen to advocate for residents and is interested in the effectiveness and efficiency of services provided by the council for the town. She has experience over the years in licensing, grants, Overview and Scrutiny, budget advisory, amongst others. She was previously the Cabinet Member for Housing. Jennifer is currently the Chair of Audit Committee as well as being Shadow Cabinet member for Housing. 

She enjoys supporting charities in Crawley and regularly works with them and has had roles as director and trustee over the years. She also has been a Governor of Maidenbower First School.
