Purpose:

The Council have been approached by Mole Valley DC (MVDC) about the potential for them to join Crawley’s shared procurement service, firstly through a year trial, with the possibility of full integration if the trial is successful for all parties involved.

The Joint Procurement Board, who govern the shared procurement service, have met with MVDC and have agreed to the principle of the expand the shared service arrangement to MVDC on a 12-month trial basis, subject to each confirmation from each of the individual Council approval.


Decision:

The Head of Corporate Finance on behalf of the Council and as the lead authority for the Share Procurement Service, has approved the Council support and agreement for the 1 year trial of expanding the Share Procurement Service to include Mole Valley District Council, to commence in August/September 2019 with regular review periods. 

The Leader of the Council was consulted on the expansion and confirmed his support for this approach.

Any future decision to make the arrangement permanent would result in a recommendation report coming to a future Cabinet meeting.
