28/03/2024 - Future Acquisitions for Affordable Housing Delivery Relating to Resolutions (b) and (d) of Report CH/201 ref: 661    Recommendations Approved

To proceed with the acquisition of the off-plan "turnkey" purchase referred to in paragraph 5.2 of the report to Cabinet report (CH/201) and the award of contract for the project to deliver Council-owned affordable housing.

The decision will be enacting resolutions (b) and (d) relating to the report which were agreed by the Cabinet at its meeting on 27 September 2023.

The decision will be taken by the Leader in consultation with the Cabinet Member and officers identified in resolution (d).

20/03/2024 - Irrecoverable Debts 2023-2024 (Under £50,000) ref: 660    Recommendations Approved

While the Council endeavours to collect all debts due to the Council, there will inevitably be some debts that remain irrecoverable. Individual debts of up to £50,000 can be written-off using delegated powers.

25/03/2024 - Restriction on Title of K2 Crawley by Sport England ref: 659    Recommendations Approved

Sport England have granted Crawley Borough Council funding from the Exchequer through the Swimming Pool Support Fund Phase II with a requirement for a restriction on title for K2 Crawley to be placed.

This funding award is for the installation of additional photovoltaic panels and installation of LED lighting within the facility. The award is in part due to the significant increase in utility costs over the past eighteen months which has greatly affected the provision of swimming pool facilities nationwide. The scheme also fits in with Crawley Borough Council's Climate Emergency Action Plan and feed into the wider decarbonisation project which has recently commenced.

Various changes have been made to the Council's Corporate Complaints Policy to reflect and incorporate changes made by the LGSCO and the Housing Ombudsman following their joint consultation.
