Jonathan was born and grew up in London before studying mechanical engineering at the Hatfield Polytechnic. He moved to Crawley in 1989 to take up an engineering traineeship in Three Bridges with the South Easter Electricity Board. He has lived happily in Crawley ever since and still works in Three Bridges as an IT Programme Manager for UK Power Networks. After serving the Territorial Army for 14 years Jonathan is a member of the Royal British Legion and still actively involved with his Regimental Association.
