The Brownfield Land Register is a register of
previously developed sites within Crawley which are considered
suitable and available for housing-led development, and where such
development is considered achievable. The Register was first
published in 2017 in accordance with legislation, and must be
reviewed on an annual basis. Delegated Member authorisation is
required for the purposes of the 2019 review because the proposed
update includes one or more sites which have not previously been
included in the Register and which do not yet have planning
permission.

Consultation process
No specific consultation on this item has
taken place or is proposed, but most of the content of the updated
Register will be based on the Strategic Housing Land Availability
Assessment which was published alongside the Local Plan Review
consultation between July and September 2019. A Call for Sites also
ran in tandem with this consultation and will inform the update to
the Brownfield Land Register. Depending on responses to this
consultation additional sites not previously included in the SHLAA
may be added.
