Cabinet report (PES/252 -Town Centre Signage
and Wayfinding) dated 29 November 2017 gave delegated approval for
the Head of Economic and Environmental Services (now Economy and
Planning), in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Planning and
Economic Development, to agree the final design and placement
locations of the signs.
In 2018, a number of signs were installed in and around the town
centre and these have been well received by the public and business
community. Following further consultation, a need for new signage
in Memorial Gardens and the Historic High Street, has been
identified.
The design and placement of these additional signs have been
agreed, in accordance with the delegation granted by Cabinet, by
the Head of Economy and Planning, in consultation with the Cabinet
Member for Planning and Economic Development (and The Leader of the
Council)
The new signs will be installed during March 2019.
