Councillor Lamb, Leader of the Council, exercised his delegated authority on 10 November 2021 to approve the Calendar of Meetings for 2022/23 as set out in report LDS/173 which was published on 2 November 2021 in Councillors Information Bulletin IB/1104.

Councillor Lamb, Leader of the Council, exercised his delegated authority on 17 November 2021 in consultation with the relevant officers to award the contract for Arboricultural Services to Bidder 1 as set out in report HCS/036 (available to view by Councillors only) which was published on 9 November 2021 in Councillors Information Bulletin IB/1105.

Councillor Jhans, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services and Sustainability, exercised his delegated authority on 17 November 2021 to approve the following road names for the development off Steers Lane:

·        Butterfly

·        Crosswater

·        Sapling

·        Hightrees

·        Treetop

·        Valley

·        Riverbrook

The related Consideration Report (PES/393) was published on 9 November 2021 in Councillors Information Bulletin IB/1105.

Two items are attached for Councillors only which relate to the Gatwick Airport Northern Runway Development Consent Order Consultation.

The main document is a Councillor’s Briefing Note which summarises the Northern Runway Project proposals, the DCO process, and highlights key areas of concern.  The second document (attached as an appendix) is the draft full Technical Review of the Preliminary Environmental Impact Report and other supporting Reports that Gatwick is currently consulting on.  The council’s response is informed by CBC officers, external expert advice and liaison with neighbouring authorities.

Councillors will have an opportunity to ask any questions on the draft response and discuss their thoughts at the All-Members’ Seminar on Tuesday 23^rd November to which Councillors should already have received a Teams Invite.

Councillors are also invited to make any comments on the draft response by 9am on Monday 29^th November, earlier if possible.  Please send any comments to the following three officers: jean.mcpherson@crawley.gov.uk, anthony.masson@crawley,gov.uk and sallie.lappage@crawley.gov.uk.

The Technical review will then be finalised for submission to GAL by the deadline of Wednesday 1^st December 2021.
