The following documents are attached in relation to Temporary Traffic Regulation Orders:

Local Planning Authorities are required by the Localism Act 2011 to meet the 'Duty to Cooperate', that is to engage constructively and actively on an on-going basis on planning matters that impact on more than one local planning area.

The National Planning Policy Framework and National Planning Policy Guidance sets out the strategic issues where co-operation might be appropriate. In this regard, Local Planning Authorities are expected to demonstrate evidence of having effectively cooperated to plan for issues with cross-boundary impacts when their Local Plans are submitted for examination through the preparation of agreed Statements of Common Ground (SoCG).

Both Worthing and Crawley Borough Councils are undertaking Local Plan Reviews. This SoCG helps the authorities to meet the Duty to Cooperate requirement as part of the Local Plan Review processes by setting out the cross-boundary strategic planning issues that exist and/or are likely to arise in the foreseeable future between the two Councils.

On 13 May 2021 the Head of Economy and Planning signed a joint Statement of Common Ground with Worthing Borough Council to cover both Authorities' current Local Plan Review (background document: Worthing Borough Council and Crawley Borough Council Statement of Common Ground, May 2021).

At the request of the Head of Corporate Finance and with the agreement of Councillor Lamb, as Leader of the Council, the dates of two future Audit Committee meetings have been changed.  The new dates are as follows:

·                     Monday 19 July at 7pm (moved from 26 July).

·                     Thursday 30 September at 7pm (moved from 4 October).

Councillors are requested to note that the Commercialisation Seminar, which was scheduled to take place on 7 July 2021, has been moved and will now take place via MS Teams at 6.30pm on 21 July 2021.

The Safer Crawley Partnership has produced a postcard providing information to residents on how to report crime and anti-social behaviour and who to contact regarding specific issues.  The postcard has been created for use when engaging with residents across the town, whether this be in person or via social media.   As well as how to report crime and anti-social behaviour, the postcard also includes how to report crime anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers, how to report anti-social driving and abandoned vehicles via Operation Crackdown, how to connect rough sleepers with local support via Streetlink, how to report noise nuisance whether this be from a commercial/industrial premises or neighbour noise, how to report offensive graffiti and discarded needles, how to report any concerns regarding a licensed premises or people and how to report concern regarding a taxi driver or taxi company.
