Crawley Borough Council has successfully applied to Arts Council England for £13,150 to deliver the THRIVE programme.

CBC will commission arts charity Same Sky to work with local artists and cultural groups leading to a celebratory, place-making event featuring a community parade, music, dance, food and fireworks in Memorial Garden on Saturday 30 November. Same Sky is the largest arts charity in the South East. It works with communities to create unique, participatory and inclusive projects that empower them to celebrate neighbourhoods and history.

Same Sky will train and support a local artist workshop team and create a community/school workshop programme to target, amongst others, areas of deprivation and hard to reach communities.

Workshops in eight schools including primary and SEND schools will make 3D lanterns for the parade and secondary schools large-scale, illuminated sculptures. Community workshops will take place at partner venues The Hawth theatre, Crawley Library and Museum.
