In accordance with the Council’s Code of Conduct, councillors are reminded that it is a requirement to declare interests where appropriate.

The Mayor, in line with the Council’s Constitution having received a requested from nine members, (Councillors A. Belben, T Belben, Burrett, Crow, McCarthy, Millar-Smith, Mwagale Pendlington and Piggott respectively)  called this Extraordinary Full Council meeting in order to consider the following single item of business:

Notice of Motion – No Confidence in the Mayor

Moved by Councillor Duncan Crow

and seconded by Councillor Kevan McCarthy.

“This Council expresses No Confidence in the Mayor and seeks his immediate resignation.”

NB. The rationale behind the request for the Extraordinary Full Council was :

This item of business cannot wait until the next Ordinary Full Council meeting scheduled for the 20^th October 2021, as we believe the residents of Crawley will feel that three months is too long to wait in order to start restoring the reputation of our town’s mayoralty.
