A County wide project to investigate innovative ways of delivering Disabled Facilities Grants led to the creation of an approach that was agreed at Cabinet on 10th January 2018. Cabinet also agreed to delegate authority to the Head of Strategic Housing, in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing to make any further amendments required in response to cross-county project outcomes.

Since this time, the approach outlined in the Cabinet report in 2018 has been pulled together into a policy document, which District and Borough Councils across West Sussex are now being asked to formally approve and adopt.

The Deputy Chief Executive, standing in for the Head of Strategic Housing Services and in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Housing, agrees to the adoption of the ‘West Sussex Disabled Facilities Grant Policy 2020 – 2024’. It is the intention of the group that the policy be adopted and implemented countywide from 2nd January 2020.
